A new community center/theater for Fire Island Pines. The 7,500 square foot community center, completed in 2009, was commissioned by the not-for profit Fire Island Pines Property Owner’s Association to house theatrical productions, religious services, municipal functions including an onsite health clinic and community gatherings such as yoga classes, discussion groups, and AA meetings.

Whyte Hall Theater, the main space, features removable seating, a large stage, a flyspace with theatrical lighting and sound systems and cleverly designed oversized sliding doors made from Kalwall panels which open the space up to the large outdoor decks. 

The building also houses a commercial kitchen for catered events, a theatrical set-building workshop, and a furnished one-bedroom apartment on the top floor for the resident community doctor.
